On November 20th, ISK Fire Survival carried out a technical demonstration in Barcelona aimed at fire and rescue professionals, wildfire brigades, emergency units, and operational commanders.
The main objective was to showcase, under controlled real-world conditions, the performance of two key solutions from our Integral Safety Kit: the FS1 – Self-Protection Nozzle and the FS2 – Collective Fire-Resistant Shelter.
The session was conducted in an operational environment where scenarios of entrapment and intense fire exposure were recreated to evaluate the behavior and effectiveness of both systems under extreme conditions.
FS1 – Self-Protection Nozzle Demonstration
During the demonstration, attendees observed the FS1 in action—a device designed to generate a rapid thermal shield that dramatically reduces radiant heat exposure.
Key aspects highlighted included:
- The FS1’s ability to create an immediate protection perimeter.
- Its effectiveness in unexpected entrapment scenarios.
- Fast deployment and ease of operation for frontline personnel.
- The system’s stability and resistance even under sustained fire conditions.
ISK technicians performed several live exercises, explaining the patented technology behind the FS1 and the operational advantages it provides when time and visibility are critical.
FS2 – Collective Fire-Resistant Shelter Demonstration
The second part of the session focused on the FS2 – Collective Fire-Resistant Shelter, designed to protect multiple team members during high-intensity fire progression or sudden shifts in fire behavior.
During the demonstration, participants evaluated:
- Its thermal resistance under direct exposure.
- Fast setup and field deployment capability.
- Structural stability and improved internal ventilation.
- Coordinated use by crews operating under time pressure.
Attendees were able to see how the FS2 serves as an emergency barrier that significantly increases survival probability while waiting for support or tactical repositioning.
Participation and Technical Discussion
The event brought together forest firefighters, operational chiefs, wildfire specialists, procurement officers, trainers and other emergency professionals. After the practical session, a technical discussion was held to address:
- Real-scenario application protocols.
- Integration of FS1 and FS2 into existing operational procedures.
- Maintenance, inspection cycles and durability considerations.
- Use-case experiences and operational feedback from field deployments.
This exchange provided a detailed understanding of how both systems enhance safety and decision-making under extreme circumstances.
ISK’s Commitment to Training and Real-World Preparedness
Live demonstrations are a core part of ISK Fire Survival’s commitment to training, prevention and technical readiness. Our solutions are designed to increase survival probability in critical scenarios, and their full value is realized when professionals understand their operation, limitations and advantages in real conditions.
The Barcelona event is part of our ongoing program of technical sessions, field demonstrations and professional training activities that will continue throughout the coming year.
