Fire Shelter: Collective Protection in Extreme Situations
Fire shelther. When fire becomes uncontrollable and escape routes disappear, survival depends on preparation and reliable self-protection equipment. In this context, the ISK Fire Survival Fire Shelter represents an advanced solution for wildland firefighters trapped in a fire front.
What Is an ISK Fire Shelter? Fire shelther
The FS2 Collective Fireproof Shelter, part of the Integral Safety Kit by ISK, is designed to provide comprehensive thermal and respiratory protection against the radiant and convective heat generated by high-intensity fires.
Made with multi-layer fire-resistant fabric, the shelter creates an effective barrier capable of withstanding extreme temperatures, reducing the thermal impact on personnel sheltered inside.
ISK Fire Shelter: Certified Technology for Survival
The FS2 is certified by ENAC-accredited laboratories, meeting UNE EN ISO 11612 and EN 469/A1 standards. These certifications guarantee resistance to heat, radiation, and direct flame exposure, ensuring the highest level of protection required in forest firefighting operations.
Additionally, it incorporates a pneumatic structural system that allows for rapid deployment (in under 15 seconds), providing a safe space for 4 or 6 people, depending on the model (FS2.4 or FS2.6).
Breathable Air and External Visibility. Fire shelther
One of the key innovations of the ISK Fire Shelter is its autonomous breathable air system, composed of compressed air cylinders, individual masks, and a constant-flow distributor. This system provides 12 to 15 minutes of breathable air for all occupants — a critical window of time to endure until external conditions improve.
It also includes an external fireproof viewing window, made of polycarbonate with a gold-coated film, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1,290 °C, allowing visual control of the surroundings while maintaining internal safety.
A Fire Shelter Designed to Save Lives
The FS2 not only protects against extreme heat — it also integrates satellite geolocation and oxygen level detection systems, ensuring communication and monitoring during the most critical operations.
Its lightweight structure (12–15 kg) and compact carrying bag make it easy to transport and deploy in the field, a crucial advantage in emergency situations.
ISK Fire Survival: When Everything Fails, ISK Stands
The ISK Fire Shelter embodies the company’s commitment to survival in extreme conditions. Thanks to its technological innovation, European certifications, and practical design, ISK offers firefighting teams a second chance when everything seems lost.
ISK Fire Survival, a leader in self-protection solutions for wildland firefighters, continues to develop equipment that increases survival rates against large-scale wildfires.
